Dayanand Mathra Dass College, Moga was started in 1926 by Rai Bahadur Dr. Mathra Dass Pahwa, the Padam Vibhushan awardee and the eminent eye surgeon, philanthropist and educationist in the sacred memory of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati. It is one of the premier co- educational institutions of the State which has been serving the society for many decades. It is indeed a lighthouse of knowledge and learning with a rich legacy of 95 years and has been serving Moga and its surrounding areas with the commitment to impart quality education to students and inspired by a zeal to promote higher learning. In 95 years of its existence, the college has produced great administrators, academicians, politicians, actors, scholars, sportsmen, artists, engineers, doctors, and above all good human beings.

The college since its inception has introduced many faculties like Science, Commerce, Humanities, Languages and Computer Science. The college continuously implements and adopts growth and expansion policies in the academic curriculum, field of research and development, placement and co-curricular activities, creative endeavours, social and religious programmes, student welfare and infrastructural development. The college has also introduced Post Graduate Courses in English, Punjabi, Hindi, M.Sc. (Mathematics) & PGDCA to promote higher education and to fulfil the persistent demand of the area. The college has introduced, Sociology, Music (Vocal)), Computer Science as elective subjects at Undergraduate level. The college has also started job oriented add-on certificate course in the subjects of Insurance Business, Computer Based Accounting & Fashion Designing at the Undergraduate level. The college also provides the facility of Girls Hostel which is housed in a commodious building equipped with all the required facilities.

The college is established in a spacious building located in the heart of the Moga city. It provides cordial, congenial and conducive atmosphere for mental, moral and physical upliftment of the students. The college proudly claims that it has an impressive infrastructure in the shape of adequate and airy classrooms having natural light, AC Girls Common Room, College Canteen with a separate hall for girls, AC Seminar Hall, well stocked Library, AC Reading Room for Boys, lush green lawns, shady trees to provide fresh air in the college, well maintained playgrounds, well equipped laboratories in the subjects of Chemistry, Physics, Zoology, Botany, Office Management & Secretarial Practice, Computer Science and Fashion Designing. There is almost separate block for each Faculty and separate girls section wherever possible.
